Hello!
I'd like to share a little information with you about the benefits of Conservation or UV glass.
By using Conservation glass products, you are protecting your artwork from 97% of the suns damaging UV rays. The glass filters out these harmful elements before they ever come in contact with your artwork. Conservation glass is like sunscreen for your art. The same light that causes sunburn and wrinkles will also ruin your framed items, turning them yellow and brittle and fading them, making them less vibrant.
The sun is not the only light source that can damage framed artwork. UV light is present in every light source found in your home or office - skylights, unshaded windows, even flourescent and halogen light bulbs. You should never place framed artwork or photographs in direct sunlight, even with conservation glass.
We offer several different types of conservation picture glass, all produced by Tru Vue.
CONSERVATION CLEAR
Essential for conservation picture framing, it looks like regular glass but blocks UV light.
CONSERVATION REFLECTION CONTROL
Single-sided etched non-glare, ideal for frames with 1-3 mats.
MUSEUM GLASS
Anti-reflective technology with UV blocking properties. A nearly invisible glass with almost no reflection - excellent for all your framing projects including shadow boxes and deep mat depths.
For your next framing project, we highly reccommend you use conservation glazing. It will protect your investment for years to come!
